End Of The Search Primer
"Forward"
This End of the Search Primer speaks to the mind and the Heart.
It is best understood by reading the whole thing through without paying too much attention to understanding. It may sound odd that I would ask you to read this booklet without the need to understand it, but if you will give it a try you will meet with success in a way not understood by the mind.
The text is laid out in a rather unconventional manner in terms of readability and form. It was put together from a series of posts that I sent in response to questions from some of the members on my End of the Search (EOTS) mailing list. It is also in response to members asking for some sort of “primer” in order to familiarize themselves with what we speak about at EOTS. Some items may seem out of place, such as the information under the title of “Finger Waving.” Some readers may think that if they had done this exercise first, they might have understood the text better, but things are as they are for a reason and that reason is that I don’t mind whether or not the mind understands what is written. Our whole intention at EOTS is to end the tyranny of the mind, and one does not end it by catering to it.
A few places in this book may cause you to scratch your head and wonder what I am talking about, because I use capital letters in odd ways and occasionally, refer to things that you may not know about. In those instances, when you attempt to understand, you can be assured that it is the ego who is attempting to understand certain concepts so it can use them and therefore stay in control. Because of this you may come to the end of this booklet and want to throw it in the trash and demand your money back . . . good. I only ask you to sit for a moment with your frustration and not move. If you need some motivation for this you can just be assured that I will not send you your money back. And if you have read the portion dealing with the demon you will be able to begin to watch it rise.
The booklet was originally a series of dialogues I had with members of the EOTS list on the Internet and as such some of the terms may be unfamiliar, but you will still be able to grasp what is being said. Many of the people who spoke together were students of “A Course in Miracles (ACIM), a spiritual text that is generally categorized in the “new-age” genre. I was a “student” of ACIM for about four years and made many friends while so engaged. I no longer consider myself a student of ACIM.
The introduction of the subjects covered in this booklet were, for many members, a new experience and one which made a profound impact on their lives. Whether this is true for you or not depends upon how you approach this subject. If you are reading this book in order to have a better life, then you should stop right now as a “better life” is not guaranteed by paying attention to any of my work or writings. At the same time I do not say that your life will get worse either, it is just that we are not speaking about this life and this world per se.
You open the pages of this book at your own risk. You will never be the same and if you close the covers of this booklet and feel the same . . . read it again and this time try to not understand it.
